The San Antonio Rodeo has been around for a long time and is held at the Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum. Construction of the Coliseum began in January of 1948, and it houses a diversity of events. Joe Freeman, noted as an early proponent of the movement to build a permanent facility, shares the name of the Coliseum with his brother.

A "don't miss" is the Van de Walle Fajita Corral. All proceeds from the Corral benefit the S.A.L.E. Scholarship Fund supporting the education of Texas youth. Offerings include brisket, dumplings, Texas barbeque, baked potatoes, and of course, beef and chicken fajitas.

Although the Rodeo primarily focuses on livestock exposition and other agricultural events, the venue boasts carnival, shops offering everything from sassy canine collars to boutique clothing to monogrammed items, food, and more.
